'CRITICIZED' WINS BEST INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM AT RIOFAN RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Richard Gale's 'Criticized' recently won the award for Best International Short Film at the first ever RIOFAN - the Rio de Janeiro Fantastic Film Festival. 'CRITICIZED' WINS CUTTING EDGE FILM COMPETITION AT DEAD BY DAWN FILM FESTIVAL EDINBURGH, UK - Richard Gale's 'Criticized' won the Cutting Edge Short Film Competition at the Dead By Dawn Film Festival, Scotland's premier horror film festival, and one of the top genre festivals in Europe. The winner was selected by the audience from a selection of the best short horror films from new and emerging directors. 'Criticized' won Audience Awards for Best Short Film at the New York City Horror Film Festival, Dead Channels in San Francisco, Idaho International Film Festival, and the Fantasia Film Festival, regarded as one of the premier genre film festivals in North America, featuring hundreds of shorts and feature films from around the world. In May, 'Criticized' won Awards for Best Horror Film and Best Actor at the Rebel Planet Film Festival of Hollywood. 'Criticized' star Brian Rohan received the Best Actor prize, being voted the best actor in the entire festival, out of nearly 100 films in all genres. In March, 'Criticized' received an Award of Special Recognition for Scariest Movie at the DC Independent Film Festival in Washington, D.C. In February, the film won the award for Best Horror Film at the Raleigh Studios Show Off Your Short Film Festival in Hollywood. Over 350 films were submitted to the festival from around the world. 'Criticized' also won the award for Best Short Film at Horror Fest UK. Tony Lee, editor of the website The Zone, describes 'Criticized' as "a tour de force of quite startling originality... the quintessential shocker of this whole event," and "a masterpiece."
